Bookman cupholder combines design and function

Published March 20, 2014

STOCKHOLM (BRAIN) — The Bookman Cup Holder is intended to be a simple and attractive way to help city cyclists who also happen to be coffee enthusiasts.

The Cup Holder attaches to the handlebars with a spring steel construction. Open the spring by pressing the rings together, place it on the handlebar and let go. The manufacturer said the Cup Holder will not lose its grip even during rides over bumps and potholes.

The Bookman Cup Holder can be flipped and used with either the smaller ring or the larger ring depending on cup size. There's also a small "storage cube" that slots into place when not in use to keep everything flat and tidy. It is available in black, white, red and green.

The construction is completely free from screws and glue and the clip design allows easy disassembly for recycling.

The Cup Holder is part of the Bookman product family of minimalistic Scandinavian design objects created for urban, style-conscious cyclists. It will be available in late April from bookman.se and some retailers. Bookman's previous products have been sold in design concept boutiques such as Colette (Paris), museum shops like MoMA in New York City and bike shops including ParkSIDER in Tokyo.

MSRP: $39.
