The post that pumps

Published September 10, 2012

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (BRAIN) — BioLogic has updated its PostPump, an award-winning product that serves as a seatpost and a high-capacity floor pump.

The PostPump 2.0 has won a "red dot" product design award.

The design has a flip-out foot stand and makes use of the saddle as a handle. BioLogic reworked the original, adding precision-machined aluminum fittings to increase maximum pressure and stroke volume. In addition, a flip-to-fit adapter allows switching between Presta and Schrader valves.

The company said it can inflate a 20-by-1.5-inch tire to 50 psi in 40 strokes.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized by red dot for all the hard work we put into redesigning the product,” said BioLogic product manager Kevin Chan. “Our goal is to make cycling easier and more convenient and having this pump stashed at all times on your bike is a nice step in that direction.”

The PostPump 2.0 seatpost is spec'd on several bike models by Tern, and is now shipping as an aftermarket product. It comes in a 33.9-millimeter post diameter and has an MSRP of $50.
