Pierer announces agreements to sell its Felt Bicycle and Raymon brands

Published December 6, 2023

WELS, Austria (BRAIN) — Pierer Mobility AG said it has agreements to sell Felt Bicycle, which it acquired in 2021, to a consortium led by a current manager. The Austrian motorcycle and e-bike company also has agreed to sell its Raymon e-bike brand to its founders, Susanne and Felix Puello, and focus on its KTM, GASGAS and Husqvarna brands.

Pierer has agreed to sell Felt to a consortium led by Florian Burguet, who is currently the Chief Sales Officer for New Mobility at KTM. Pierer said it expects the the Felt sale to be closed in the first half of 2024 and that Burguet will step down from the Pierer management board at the end of this month.

Pierer sells e-bikes and motorcycles under the GASGAS and Husqvarna brands. Pierer uses the KTM brand on motorcycles and sports cars, but not on bikes or e-bikes; another Austrian company owns the KTM rights for use on bikes and e-bikes.

Pierer said it plans to expand Husqvarna and GASGAS in e-mobility. The company's new E-Mobility business unit will include all electrically powered two-wheelers including e-motorcycles, e-minis and stand-up scooters.

Pierer, which is publicly traded in Austria, also announced it would relocate some production and R&D activities to China and India. That decision will lead to a reduction of about 300 staff positions in Austria.
