OGDEN, Utah (BRAIN) — Aaron Walker has left Mavic North America, where he was commercial manager, to pursue new opportunities, the company announced Friday. Walker had been with the company 16 years.

EAST BURKE, Vt. (BRAIN) — Following a search process that began in August, the Kingdom Trails Association announced Friday that it has hired Abigail Long as the organization's new executive director.

Tim Tierney, who served as the association's executive director for more than a decade, resigned last May.

DENVER (BRAIN) — Alchemy Bicycles has expanded production capacity at its factory, added 20 new dealers, three new international distributors and two new independent sales reps. The company also will begin shipping complete bikes for the first time.

TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Amclassic Inc., the parent company of the American Classic wheel and component brand, has voluntarily closed its factory here and laid off about 40 employees in Taiwan and the U.S.

DENVER (BRAIN) — If all goes to plan, a Colorado investor group will acquire Niner, Inc.'s assets and bring the company out of bankruptcy before the end of the month

But first, other potential buyers will be given a chance to bid for the company at an auction next Thursday.

HERGISWIL, Switzerland (BRAIN)—The World Bicycle Industry Association has formed, with founding members from the Bicycle Association Japan, the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association based in the U.S., the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry and the Taiwan Bicycle Association.

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — The bike market jumped 7 percent in November as supplier shipments rose by $5.1 million compared with the same month in 2016.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Scoot Networks, which operates an electric vehicle share program here, has added a fleet of e-bikes to its program and is applying for the city's dockless bike sharing permit. 

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) —  Through the end of January, Faraday Bikes will donate $100 from every bike sale to the Million Tree Challenge, a promotion organized by the One Tree Planted organization. Each $100 donation will result in 100 new trees planted. 

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (BRAIN) — TerraTrike has donated more than $3,000 worth of cycling accessories to The Spoke Folks, a nonprofit bike cooperative based in Grand Rapids, the trike-maker's hometown. 

TORRANCE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Pioneer's Cycle Sports Division has completed the move to a new facility in Torrance, California, that used to be occupied by Toyota before the automaker moved to Texas.

DES MOINES, Iowa (BRAIN) — The Iowa Bike Expo, scheduled for Jan. 27 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, has broken its own record for number of registered exhibitors. The expo has 93 exhibitors lined up for 150 booth spaces, increasing last year's total by almost 25 percent. 

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Ruckus Composites, a carbon fiber repair company, has refreshed its branding for 2018, among other changes. The nine-year-old company also is launching its own podcast, planning a warehouse sale at its Portland headquarters, and unveiling a new three-tiered pricing system for repairs. 

Seven states have passed e-bike bills and several more are close.

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Expanding trail access for e-MTBs, how to market e-bikes to grow category awareness, and overcoming lingering hurdles of selling e-bikes at traditional bike shops were among the key topics at the BPSA PeopleForBikes E-Bike Summit held at Shimano's Irvine offices last week.
