Life Time event revenue up 26% in first half

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (BRAIN) — Life Time Group Holdings, the parent of bike events including the Leadville 100, the Sea Otter Classic and Unbound Gravel, reports that revenue in its "other" category was up 25.7% in the first half of the year. The "other" category includes Life Time's bike and running events, a small percentage of the company's overall revenues, most of which come from its fitness centers.

Revenue for the category was $32.7 million in the half, up from $26.0 million in the same period last year. The "other" category provided about 3% of Life Time's overall revenues of $1.04 billion in the half. 

Company-wide, Life Time's revenue increased 21.8% to $561.7 million from $461.3 million in the second quarter. For the first half, overall revenue of $1.04 billion was up 25.7%. 

Net income for the half was $44.5 million, compared to a loss of $40.3 million in the same period last year. Comparable fitness center income was up 19.7% in the half. The company's total membership count increased by 65,000 versus last year. Life Time had 790,238 members at the end of the half.
