Masks and 5-foot distancing: Eurobike sets safety and hygiene rules

Published June 9, 2021

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Eurobike has announced its safety and hygiene regulations for the Sept. 1-4 show at its Messe Friedrichshafen venue.

Last year’s show was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. With the pandemic further receding, trade fairs and events will be allowed as long as the following measures are followed.

  • Exhibition ground access is not permitted for people who show the typical symptoms of a COVID-19 infection. People who have been in contact with a person infected also will not be admitted, who are or have been in contact with a person infected, and who have been in contact less than 14 days ago. Only those tested within 24 hours, vaccinated, or recovered individuals are allowed to enter. Vaccinated or recovered people must present their certificates at the time of entry. There will be no COVID-19 testing on-site.
  • All visitors must register in advance through the online ticket shop. Online tickets are only available there. You will be asked your expected status at the time of the show during the registration process: tested, vaccination completed, or recovered (proof will be required on-site).
  • As usual, the free Messe-Express (Line MX) will connect the train station at the harbor and in the center with the exhibition grounds. Masks are required.
  • Masks must be worn in the exhibition halls, and you must provide your own, with surgical-grade FFP2 masks — equivalent to N95, KN95 and P2 — required. In closed rooms on the exhibition grounds, masks must be worn. The following exceptions apply: Exhibition stands where minimum social distancing of 5 feet between individuals can be ensured; seating with a guaranteed minimum spacing of 5 feet; where alternative protection for others of at least an equal standard is assured; mask intolerance, confirmed by a doctor’s certificate.
  • All exhibitors and visitors are requested to observe a minimum social distance of 5 feet. Due to large halls, traffic ways, and exhibition areas, Eurobike will facilitate larger spaces to move in within the halls to guarantee the necessary minimum distance.
  • There will be several disinfectant dispensers throughout the exhibition center, most notably at the entrances, hall intersections, and restroom areas. There will be shorter disinfection and cleaning intervals at frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, handles, and surfaces in sanitary areas. Eurobike requests avoiding the customary greeting rituals, like shaking hands, and to observe sneezing and coughing etiquette.
  • Entrance areas, exhibition halls, conference rooms and dining areas will be sufficiently supplied with outdoor quality fresh air. In addition, the exhibition halls have a ceiling height of 74 feet to ensure sufficient circulation.
  • Friedrichshafen’s restaurant and catering partners have adapted their service concepts to the current situation and will be guided by the state.

To keep updated on current rules, go to the state website or Messe Friedrichshafen.

Eurobike returns to the Messe Friedrichshafen in September.
