Cactus Bike revives Ahwatukee location

PHOENIX, AZ (BRAIN) Monday July 23 2012—CJ Culley, new owner of Cactus Bike, has reopened the shop at one of its original locations in Ahwatukee, a neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona.

Cactus Bike, formerly owned by Brian Anciaux, previously had five Arizona locations, including Ahwatukee and the nearby city of Chandler. Anciaux shut down four of the five last August, retaining only the Chandler location, which he sold to Culley in September. “Brian was just ready for a change in lifestyle,” said Culley. “He wanted to get out of the business.”

Culley decided to expand and, on July 9, reopened the doors in Ahwatukee, at 4747 E. Elliot Road. “It’s a really prime area, right next to the mountains and trailheads,” said Culley of Ahwatukee. “There’s a great cycling community here.”

Focused mainly on mountain biking, Cactus Bike carries Kona as a major brand and prides itself on being the only Jamis dealer in Phoenix. The store also offers road, family and BMX bikes, as well as service.

With much of the staff composed of former employees of the Chandler location, Culley predicts the store will be thriving in no time. “We’re excited to be back,” said Culley, who plans a grand opening in October.
