GoPro recalling bad Karma drones

Published November 9, 2016

SAN MATEO, Calif. (BRAIN) — GoPro is recalling its Karma drones because they can lose power suddenly during operation. The company is giving all GoPro purchasers who return their Karma a full refund.

The company said a small number of the drones have lost power. It said it continues to investigate the issue and is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration on the recall, which involves about 2,500 drones. The company began selling the drone on Oct. 23. Some of the drones were sold as a bundle with GoPro cameras and other products and the company is asking consumers to return the entire bundle for the refund.

The company is asking that all of the drones be returned, even if they have not shown any problems. It said it will resume production of the product after the issue is resolved.
