Camber Outdoors and BPSA offer scholarships to attend Bicycle Leadership Conference

Published February 8, 2017

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Camber Outdoors and the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association are offering scholarships to bring four people to the Bicycle Leadership Conference this April in Monterey, California.

The scholarships were designed to expand the talent pool and support future industry leaders. They will be awarded to qualified applicants who are currently employed in the bike industry, working for a manufacturer or supplier or as a rep. This year’s BLC is April 18-20.

"The BPSA is proud to fund these Camber Outdoors scholarships. This is the third year we’ve paid for full rides to the BLC for a more diverse group of future industry leaders, and we hope to continue this great tradition," said Ray Keener, the BPSA’s executive director.

For 2017, two Women to Watch scholarships will be awarded to up-and-coming leaders from U.S.-based supplier companies. New this year, two sales representatives — one woman and one man — will receive scholarships through the program in an effort to add reps’ perspectives to the BLC discussions.

The BLC, owned and managed by the BPSA, is an annual three-day conference for industry leaders and key stakeholders that includes networking, education and collaboration on issues and opportunities facing the bicycle industry. The scholarships will cover conference registration and hotel accommodations for awardees.

Deanne Buck, executive director of Camber Outdoors, said, “The BLC is a great opportunity for those with a proven commitment to leadership in their careers to gain invaluable bike industry insight and expand their professional networks. … We’re thrilled to partner with BPSA as we focus on creating a stronger, more sustainable cycling industry with engaged, diverse talent.”

The application deadline is Feb. 24. The application is at camberoutdoors.org.
