SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Interbike says its indoor e-bike test track, called The Circuit, presented by Shimano, is now filled to capacity with exhibiting brands.
"The BPSA recently stated that sell-in numbers for e-bikes through June 2016 are up 63 percent," said Pat Hus, the vice president of Interbike. "E-bikes are a bright spot right now in our industry, and retailers have to consider the new customers that these bikes can draw to their stores. We'll have a full house of the best brands in the industry on display and/or ready to ride in The Circuit, Electric Theatre and on the show floor – there's no better opportunity to gain knowledge on this category than at the show."
The Electric Theatre, powered by Bosch, also returns to Interbike with a full slate of daily content regarding e-bikes. These free sessions are all less than an hour.
Seminars will run daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the presentation stage near The Circuit.
Seminar examples include:
- The Rise of Electric Bikes in the U.S. – Market Trends, presented by Jonathan Weinert of Bosch and Ryan Citron of Navigant Research
- Electric Mountain Bikes and Trail Access—Progress and Challenges, presented by Morgan Lommele, PeopleForBikes
- The Latest Electrifying Research on e-bikes and their Health and Transportation Impacts, presented by James Peterman, University Of Colorado Boulder and John MacArthur, Portland State University
Interbike has once again partnered with Extra Energy Services North America to build the track and exhibit area. The track will feature a new terrain lane, a ramp, several long straightaway runs and other features to allow attendees to test all aspects of e-bikes.
The EESNA will also kick off the educational content with a discussion revealing data from the inaugural Electric Bike Expo Tour.
