Published December 28, 2015

OZONE PARK, N.Y. (BRAIN) — Worksman Cycles has been appointed the exclusive U.S. distributor of Handy and Micah special needs cycles from Pacific Cycles of Taiwan.

The Micah Upright Special Needs Tricycle and the Handy Series of handcycles are each targeted at the entry level of the special needs/adaptive cycles market.

"We have seen a great increase in demand for entry-level special needs products particularly from families and institutions that are not eligible for insurance reimbursement," said Wayne Sosin, Worksman's president.

The Handy Series offer high performance handcycles in recumbent or upright configurations. They are targeted at riders without leg function and athletes seeking advanced upper body workouts. Retail prices start at $1,699.

The Micah Special Needs Tricycle offers adaptive features including caregiver rear steering control. They are targeted at children with moderate to profound special needs who ride under supervision and with assistance. The Micah has an expandable frame that allows the cycle to grow with the child. Prices start at $1,649.
