IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Hang Ten Bikes has appointed Mike Russell as its director of bike sales. Russell began in the position on Nov. 1.
The company said it has experienced "explosive growth" of cruisers in the last three years.
Russell is a a 20-year industry veteran, most recently having served as sales director at Pure Fix. There he managed the bike product categories and strategized with the outside sales team on sales, marketing and retail initiatives. Prior to that, Russell spent 10 years with Haro Bikes where he held a range of management positions.
"We are enjoying having Mike on the team," said Jeff Balaban, VP of sales for PTX Performance Products, USA, Hang Ten Bikes' parent company. "He brings an energy that is hard to rival and fluency in the IBD language. One thing is certain — the team he is assembling has the potential to compete as one of the best on the road."
Russell said, "This is my bag baby — this is what I do! Hang Ten Bikes will cater exclusively to the IBD and will not be selling direct to consumer. The relationships I have built with reps and retailers over the past 20 years will certainly appreciate that."
