QBP to host first retailer Service Summit this fall

Published September 18, 2015

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — QBP has announced it will offer a first-ever Service Summit for East Coast retailers at its new distribution center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The one-day summit, to be held Sunday, Oct. 18, will cover a variety of service-related topics. In partnership with Shimano, Park Tool, SRAM, RockShox, Campagnolo and QBP's own Shock Treatment Center, it will provide hands-on product training for shop mechanics.

"It's very well-rounded. We want to help dealers be more successful and profitable," said Lauren Ziedonis, category sales manager for QBP. "The main goal was to partner with our vendors to express the importance of education and training and how that plays into a shop's longevity and profitability."

Repair and service topics covered at the summit will include service writing, tool investment, managing service parts inventory, setting labor rate standards, how to best use training offered by tech reps, and shop employee retention. Park Tool will also offer diagnostics and service writing station setup training.

On the product training side, Shimano tech reps will cover the ins and outs of its Shadow Plus derailleurs; SRAM representatives will train mechanics how to best service its RockShox Reverb dropper post; and QBP's Shock Treatment Center will cover KS dropper posts in depth.

The Service Summit will be held on the front end of QBP's inaugural Biketoberfest dealer event, set for Oct. 18-20 at its Eastern warehouse facility, to which select East Coast retailers have been invited.

QBP is considering adding the Service Summit to its other dealer events, Frostbike and SaddleDrive. Registration for the QBP Service Summit runs until Sept. 25.

The full day of training will cost $100. Interested retailers can contact Ziedonis at lziedonis@qbp.com for more information and to register.
