QBP launches new magazine for dealers

Published February 3, 2014

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products has introduced a new monthly magazine for dealers, titled Call Up, to update them on fresh product, emerging categories, tech advice and business issues. The publication, produced in-house at QBP, replaces the company’s product-focused Hot Sheet.

Call Up includes products like the Hot Sheet did, but it goes much deeper,” said Ryan Johnson, QBP marketing manager and part of the Call Up core production team. “It’s packed with in-depth information timed to coincide with seasonal planning.”

The first issue of Call Up — which shipped to dealers Friday, Jan. 31, with a February 2014 cover date — is dedicated to mountain bikes and includes an overview of tubeless tire technology, an interview with longtime QBP buyer Dave Larson about his 25 years in the industry, and an article about the fast-growing enduro category. Additionally, the issue highlights a variety of mountain bike products, including shoes, helmets, forks and dropper posts.

“We’ve built an internal team made up of marketing professionals, salespeople and buyers to make sure we’re offering interesting, valuable content to our dealers,” Johnson said.

“We pushed ourselves. We set out to make something so good that people would want to keep it,” said QBP marketing director Jason Gaikowski. “The fact that it’s made in-house is significant. It’s well beyond what any other distributor is doing, and it represents a level of professional capability and support for our partners that frankly no one else is meeting.”

Call Up will also be available to dealers online at QBP.com.
