Boulder, Austin and Asheville to host cyclocross nationals • D'Amour Bicycle to distribute American Classic in Canada • Specialized and Strava promote climbing challenge • Alpine Bike Parks offers starter package for bike park lovers • Selle San Marco strengthens marketing team

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (BRAIN) Feb 29, 17:01 MT—USA Cycling has announced the locations of the next three editions of the national cyclocross championships.

The organization has departed from its usual practice of awarding two-year contracts for national championships. Instead, four different communities will host 'cross nats in the next four years.

“We had three outstanding bids making the only logical choice to award all three communities,” said USA Cycling's managing director of national events, Micah Rice. “The decision to award one-year contracts for the championships will also help foster cyclocross racing in three distinctively different parts of the country.”

In January 2013, Madison, Wisconsin, will complete its two-year contract to host nationals.

The following year, Boulder, Colorado will host nationals at Valmont Bike Park. The park, completed last year, has already hosted several major events.

Austin, Texas, will host the 2015 nationals at Zilker Park, an urban park near the heart of downtown Austin.

Finally, Asheville, North Carolina will host nationals in 2016, at the historic Biltmore Estate. The national championship course will be set amongst the 8,000 acres of America’s largest home, nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina.
