Clean Bottle makes case on ABC's Shark Tank

SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN) Jan 20 — Tonight at 8, ABC television viewers will watch judges decide whether to support a business pitch from bike water bottle maker Clean Bottle.

Clean Bottle will be featured on the season premiere of Shark Tank.

Clean Bottle owner David Mayer teams up with NBA legend Bill Walton to try to impress a panel of judges as he pitches the Clean Bottle.

Mayer, an Ironman triathlete and Stanford graduate, had the idea for Clean Bottle after constantly struggling to clean out the gunk and mold from the bottom of his water bottle.

Mayer earned his company international attention when he ran alongside racers at the 2010 Tour de France in a giant water bottle suit.

“The intent was to just go out and have some fun and generate a bit of awareness, but I ended up selling over $70,000 in Clean Bottles over those two weeks,” Mayer said. Clean Bottle can now be found in more than 4,000 retail stores.
