BOSTON, MA (BRAIN)—Richard Olken, a former bike retailer and director of BikesBelong, has joined the board of directors of Hostelling International New England. Olken and his family have a long history of supporting hostelling in the U.S. “We are very excited about the addition of Richard to our board,” said  Deborah Ruhe, executive director of Hostelling International’s Eastern New England Council. “Richard’s lifelong commitment to hostelling will benefit our board as he brings a unique history of travel and hostel experience to his role.  We are excited to have his participation, especially at this crucial time leading up to the opening of the new Boston Hostel this spring.” Olken, an avid cyclist and traveler, was a Boston Youth Hostel Council trip leader in high school and college, and served on the National American Youth Hostel board at age 15.
