BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Foundry Cycles, a new bike brand in the QBP stable, is soliciting essays from amateur athletes. The winners will be flown to Foundry headquarters in Minnesota and receive a free Foundry bike.

The contest begins January 1 and runs until late March. Entries can written or video essays, and may be submitted via the Foundry website or through participating bike shops.

“We're looking for people who feel a deep personal connection to the Foundry brand and its philosophy," said Jason Grantz, the Foundry brand manager.

Cyfac launches custom colors program

Cyfac International has launched a custom-color program at www.cyfac-custom.com , where customers will be able to order up bikes with any of seven color templates and more than 25 colors from the French manufacturer.

Customers can also order custom tints and add their names or logos to the frame “We consider the frame finish as important as the build beneath it. We use real paint, stencils instead of decals, and focus on realizing each client’s unique desires." says Eric Sakalowsky, Cyfac’s co-owner and sales, marketing and export director.

Light Electric Vehicle Association offers webinars

ORONO, ME (BRAIN)—Next month the Light Electric Vehicle Association is offering a 30-minute webinar called “Understanding The Repair Needs of LEV Motors, Batteries & Controllers," presented by Casey Binz, vice president at eMoto EV of Kent, Washington.

Attendees will learn to identify the primary components of e-bike power systems; describe the potential failure conditions for a given component for quick diagnosis; the top four required maintenance items and the top five most common causes for a non-functional e-bike; fundamental diagnostic best practices; and the information to gather before contacting your manufacturer.
The webinars will be held two times: Tuesday, January 17 at 11-11:30 am EST. or Thursday, January 19 at 4:30-5 pm EST. For more information visit the LEVA website.

Blue adds Korean distributor

NORCROSS, GA (BRAIN)—Blue Competition Cycles Inc. has added its fifth Asian distributor, TS Sports.Ltd. in Korea.

In the past four years, Blue has also added Asian sales representatives in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Phillipines. The U.S.-based company also has sales reps in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, U.K., Switzerland, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Mexico and South Africa.

The company claims sales growth of 38 percent in 2010 and 32 percent in 2009.
