Felt rep Penny Westman retiring

Published December 19, 2011

Penny Westman, who has represented GT Bicycles and Felt during her long career, is retiring.

“Over the years Penny has helped countless dealers build their businesses” said John Georger Felt Bicycles’s sales manager. “The best way to describe what Penny has achieved is that she has made every company she has worked for stronger … made every outside rep better and taught so many inside sales people how to really take care of their customers.”

Westman started at GT Bicycles/Riteway when it was just a small distributor, and helped it grow to support the GT, Robinson and Powerlite brands.

Once at Felt Bicycles she was able to learn about road, triathlon and other adult categories, said Bill Duehring, president of Felt Bicycles and former director of product development at GT.

“Penny has a great gift that allows her to work well with the big dealers and yet make the smaller dealers feel big. She was able to make every dealer feel like they were her only account and made sure to take care of every aspect of the sale. Penny was a vital part of what we were able to achieve at both GT and Felt. I will be forever grateful to her and she knows our door will always be open.”
