BETHEL, CT (BRAIN)—Cycling Sports Group announced on Monday that it would hold its annual sales meeting and 2012 dealer product launch in conjunction with Lifeboat Events’ DealerCamp this summer in Utah.
Cycling Sports Group, which includes Cannondale, GT, Mongoose, Schwinn and Sugoi, pulls in between 200 and 300 retailers for its annual dealer show, typically held in early July in Park City, Utah, following the company’s sales meeting. This year it’s moving up the mountain to Deer Valley Resort and will be held simultaneously with DealerCamp July 26-28.
Dave Manchester, senior vice president of sales for CSG North America, said timing of the event was key in his decision to pair up with DealerCamp.
“In simple terms, it allows us to expose our brands and products to audience beyond our current distribution in a really productive place to ride, demo and test,” Manchester said.
CSG will set up booths in DealerCamp’s expo area while holding meetings inside Deer Valley’s nearby Snowpark Lodge.
The two companies, which have agreed to a long-term commitment, have been working together on the deal for the past few months, said Lance Camisasca, founder and president of Lifeboat Event.
“We are thrilled such a strong family of brands sees the value in DealerCamp and that our event meets their high expections,” Camisasca said in a press release.
Hosting CSG retailers at DealerCamp is big boost to the up-and-coming event, which is aiming to attract more dealers in its second year. Camisasca hopes to attract 525 to 550 buyers this year. DealerCamp will subsidize travel costs for 125 businesses. Turnout also stands to be buoyed by Scott, which is flying in about 100 people from 80 shops in the two days prior to DealerCamp for its private dealer product launch and demo. Quality Bicycle Products will also bring dealers to the region in the two days prior to DealerCamp for its outdoor vendor expo at its new warehouse in Ogden, Utah.
