SUN VALLEY, ID (BRAIN)—Scott Sports has promoted Terry Duran to fill the role of national sales manager for the U.S. bicycle division.
Last October Scott Montgomery stepped down from his general manager role at Scott Sports. In a sense, according to marketing director Adrian Montgomery, Duran's hiring fills the void left by Montgomery. "Instead of hiring a general manager, we hired a national sales manager," he added.
“There’s less to do from an operations standpoint and more to do from a sales management standpoint," said Adrian Montgomery last October. "We need someone strong in a national sales manager position who can lead the sales team to grow."
Duran had been promoted from his position as regional sales manager for the Southeast, and has worked at Scott Sports since 2005.
“I have worked for many great companies in the past, and I can say with confidence that Scott Sports has the most passionate, dedicated group of professionals that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I am extremely proud to be a part of our continued success,” Duran said. "We have built a great engine over the past six years since re-entering the U.S. market, and now it is time to steer it in a new direction.”
“We are always delighted to promote from within,” said Larry Morton, vice president of sales and marketing for the U.S. “We saw so much interest in the job, but in the end the best candidate was amongst. This new sales structure should continue our growth initiatives and provide improved management strategies for our sales team.”
