LAGUNA BEACH, CA (BRAIN)—The Dreambikes program came about as a way for Crankbrothers to display its new line of components and demonstrate a new visual paradigm for the mountain bike.
With the help of Performance Bicycle, the Dreambikes have been auctioned off over the past five weeks, according to a press release. The complete proceeds from the auction will be donated to Wheels4Life, a non-profit organization established by Hans Rey that delivers bikes to people in the third world, allowing them to access school, work, and healthcare.
The last of the Crankbrothers Dreambikes were auctioned last week, and Crankbrothers is thrilled to announce that they were able to raise a total of $35,496 in the auction of the nine beautiful, one of a kind mountain bikes.
Through Wheels 4 Life, approximately $150 purchases a bike for somebody in the third world. The Dreambikes auction raised enough to contribute at least 236 bicycles. These bikes will provide children with a way to get to and from school, nurses with a way to access their patients, and parents with a way to earn a living for their families. The Dreambikes truly are changing hundreds of lives.
The winners of the dreambikes auctions now have the mountain bikes of their dreams, but more importantly, their own dreambikes provided so many life changing bikes through Wheels 4 Life. For that, Crankbrothers considers each winner a hero, and not only congratulate them on their win, but thank them for their incredible generosity and support of this program: Christiano Samaro (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Ryan Black (California, USA), Eric Vensel (Florida, USA), Jon
Martens (California, USA), Andrew Cohen (New Hampshire, USA), John Gross (Arizona, USA), Paul Bischoff (California, USA), Tony Hamilton (Pennsylvania, USA), and Joseph Cardin (Connecticut, USA).
The Dreambikes program would not have been possible without Performance Bicycle and the many partners, including Ibis, Focus, Tomac, Titus, SRAM, RockShox, Avid, Truvativ, fi’zi:k, and Continental Tires. Each of these brands helped make a huge difference in the world, and Crankbrothers is grateful for their involvement.
