MCLEAN, VA (BRAIN)—USA Today sportswriter and member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, Sal Ruibal, has been relieved from his sports writing duties at the newspaper.
"Yesterday I was cut from the USA Today Sports department, along with several other reporters and staff people," Ruibal wrote on his Facebook page. "I'm allowed to apply for two open jobs in other departments. I've worked in the Money and News sections before, including several overseas stints. This isn't the end, just a change in course."
Before departing from the sports desk, Ruibal had time to muster up one last blog called the "The Last Lap" (click on link).
