MONTEREY, CA (BRAIN)—In an effort to help our nation's warriors recover from emotional and physical injuries sustained in battle, the Sea Otter Classic has partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Donations are currently being accepted on the Sea Otter Classic Web site at the bottom of the page (click on link).
"Wounded Warrior Project is honored to be associated with the Sea Otter Classic in its 20th year," said Soldier Ride manager Woody Groton. "Cycling has profoundly impacted the emotional and physical recovery of many wounded warriors who have bravely participated in our Soldier Ride program."
"On behalf of the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and the injured service members we serve, I would like to thank the organizers and participants of the 2010 Sea Otter Classic for your critical support," said Karen Guenther, founder and executive director, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. "Thank you for believing in our mission and joining our IMSFF family in service to our wounded and their families. Your patriotic heart and spirit means all the difference for our wounded Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers and their families. God Bless you all and best wishes for a safe and fun ride."
Participants and fans of the Sea Otter Classic are urged to support these two important causes. Donations starting at $10 can be made during the registration process and online at the Sea Otter merchandise store. The contributions will be split equally between the Wounded Warrior Project and the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
