TORONTO, Ontario (BRAIN)—Lorpen, a designer of high performance socks for athletes, outdoor enthusiasts and professionals, has hired Bruce Barrows as its new U.S. sales manager.
Barrows will be responsible for the marketing and sales of Lorpen socks within the U.S. and growing the Lorpen brand through existing dealers by increasing the size of the Lorpen dealer base. Barrows will also be expanding the company’s sales opportunities through new agencies and trade channels.
“Bruce brings to the position significant experience in sales management,” said Colin Sanders, vice president of sales & marketing for Lorpen North America. “Barrow’s background in the outdoor industry is ideal to help the Lorpen brand grow and become a leader in the performance sock category.”
Barrows has more than 20 years of experience in the outdoor industry. Most recently he was the national sales manager at Tubbs Snowshoes and the K2 Corporation. Prior to that, Barrows served as director of sales and marketing at Black Diamond Sportswear and Maser Sportswear in Montpelier, VT, and vice president of marketing for Elan Skis’ Monarch Sporting Goods division in Burlington, VT.
“Joining the Lorpen team and working from my home office in Vermont is an exciting prospect for me,” Barrows said. “It gives me an opportunity to apply my knowledge and experience with the outdoor retail community to an up-and-coming brand that has innovative products, and I look forward to helping bring the company to the next level.”
