Published December 29, 2008

PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN)—Cycling in the winter may be for the hardened and seasoned cyclists, but for some that means clearing out the old parts, upgrading, or selling the past seasons cycling gear.

You'll be able to do all of this at the 1st annual Portland VeloSwap (www.PortlandVeloSwap.com) on January 10, 2009 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Roots Organic Brewing located at 1520 SE 7th Ave. Admission is $3 (16 and under free) with your paid admission you get $1 off your food or drink at Roots. This is an all ages event. Throughout the day there will be up to 100 vendors selling, which will change every two hours from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

"Cycling in Portland is obviously a huge deal, and the Portland VeloSwap is a great opportunity to connect with fellow cyclists and possibly find a some killer used or new cycling gear," said Jim Anderson, Portland VeloSwap organizer. "A common pastime in the winter for many cyclists is to sort through used or new gear that they want to sell or trade for the fast approaching cycling season, the Portland Velo Swap is a great approach to getting a great deal on anything related to cycling."
