LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)—Sport Chalet’s sales decreased to $96.5 million during its second fiscal quarter ending September 28. This sales figure includes seven new stores the company opened compared to its second quarter last year.
"While we are operating in a time of unprecedented events impacting consumer spending, I have never been more proud of the Sport Chalet team as they continue to focus on consistent execution across the business,” said Craig Levra, Sport Chalet’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Same store sales declined 6.7 percent during the quarter. And the company posted a net income loss of $4.2 million during the quarter, and a loss of $8.7 million over the first six months of its business year. Gross profit as a percent of sales was 26.5 percent this quarter, down from 30.4 percent for the second quarter of last year.
