VALENCIA, CA (BRAIN)—For 2009, Road Bike Action Magazine will expand to nine issues.
After a successful 2008, highlighted by the launch of www.roadbikeaction.com in July, the magazine's slogan for 2009 has become “Nine Great Issues in '09."

WATERLOO, WI (BRAIN)—Will bike sales grow against the economy next year as they have during past economic downturns? The leaders of the largest specialty retail suppliers, Trek and Specialized, indicated they think so in emails they recently sent to their dealers.
WEXFORD, PA (BRAIN)—EU Cycle Imports is adding the Somec line of Italian made bikes and Fluid replenishment drink to its line up for 2009.
EU Cycle Imports will be the exclusive importer for Somec and will handle Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast distribution for Fluid.
COSTA MESA, CA (BRAIN)—The National Bicycle Dealers Association upgraded to a new office space this week.
Fred Clements, the association’s executive director, said the reason for the move was the deteriorating environment of its previous office building. The NBDA had been in that office since 1999.
TEMECULA, CA (BRAIN)—Intense Cycles has added new independent reps in selected areas throughout the United States.
New to the Intense rep force are Steven Jonsson in Northern California, Chris Gebhardt in New York/New Jersey and Andrew Ewas in New England.
NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN)—Earlier this week more than 150 bike riders making up Hershey’s Tour de Pink rolled into New York City, completing a four-day trip that began from Chocolate World in Hershey, PA.

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—When Bikes Belong teamed with Humana to bring 1,000 bikes to the Democratic and Republican national conventions the advocacy group had two goals:
-To show convention delegates, media, volunteers and residents the convenience of bicycling for short trips.
