DENVER, CO (BRAIN)—Mountain bike clothing manufacturer, Royal Racing, has now established its U.S. operation. Union Sports Group LLC (USG LLC) will have the sole responsibility for the distribution of all Royal Racing products in both North and South America.

NOVATO, CA (BRAIN)—Mark Weir's Marin County home—that he shares with his wife, Sue, and son, Gus—burnt down Sunday evening, as a fire broke out in the garage and spread throughout their home.

The family got out safely after being alerted by the fire alarm system.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (BRAIN)—The Bicycle Supplier Parts Association (BPSA) reports that October on October shipments to retailers fell by 11 percent, and sales fell by 5 percent over 2008. October bicycle imports are also down over last year, according to the Department of Commerce import statistics.

BEAVERTON, OR (BRAIN)—Yakima has tied its future to a Taiwan company that—among many other items—makes water filtration products and water coolers for Whirlpool. It seems an unlikely merger, but Kemflo International also makes parts for Yakima’s racks, and has for the last nine years.
