CARLSBAD, CA (BRAIN)—Haro and Masi launched their 2011 bikes to the press yesterday at the Sheraton Carlsbad, as both brands had different points of emphasis to stress.

For Haro it’s back to the future, as the company looks to reintroduce its “Dare to be Different” slogan.

One CEO of a top-ten bike brand tells me that as a very rough estimate, he thinks financing in all its various elements ends up representing as much as 10% of his wholesale pricing. 10% of the approximately half of all BPSA bikes pre-seasoned last year means cyclists (consumers) ended up paying almost $125 million (at retail) to support wholesale finance costs in 2009.

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Elite Bicycles Asia has partnered with Vincero Design for Asia, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.

Located in Boulder, Colorado, Vincero Design was founded in 2008 by Robert Kondilas. Vincero Design is known for its water bottle mount system for bike frames.
