OXFORD, N.C. (BRAIN) — Tire sealant company Black Ox has released a wax-based chain lube, consisting of a nanoparticle-sized carnauba wax emulsion that contains no Teflon- or petroleum-based ingredients.
According to Black Ox, it goes on and wears clean and prevents dirt from penetrating the chain. It's recommended to apply every couple of rides.
The lube is available in 4-ounce bottles for $8.99 through blackoxsealant.com.
Black Ox, a division of Omnia Products, unveiled its line of sealant two years ago that features carbon fibers. Omnia Products has expertise in specialty coatings containing carbon, quartz, and ceramic fibers for aerospace applications.
