MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Trek unveiled a wide array of new Bontrager mountain bike parts at Sea Otter, including new carbon wheels, a dropper post, pedals, bars and stems, saddles and updated tires tread patterns and sizes.
Highlights include the new carbon wheels and dropper post:
- The new Line XXX wheels feature a carbon OCLV rim with 29mm internal width. The wheels are handmade in Waterloo, Wisconsin, and come in 27.5-inch and 29-inch models, with standard or Boost axle spacing. They are tubeless compatible and feature DT Swiss hubs and spokes. They retail for $1,225 (front) and $1,275 (rear). Another new wheel mode, the Kovee XXX, is a lightweight (sub 1,400 gram) cross-country racing wheelset, offered in 29-inch with Boost spacing.
- The new Drop Line dropper post is a cable-actuated hydraulic post with an underbar-mounted lever. It is designed for frames with internal dropper post cable routing. A keyed chassis prevents post rotation. It's available in three post lengths (350, 400 and 440mm) with three respective travel lengths (100, 125 and 150mm). Retail is $299.
