Sandals use recycled tires and tubes

Published May 13, 2013

SAN JOSE, CA (BRAIN) — Rottua sandals are handmade in California and feature re-purposed bike tires and tubes along with other materials.

The sandals use tires for straps and tube liner between the toes. They also have eco-frendly, high quality micro fiber topsoles and strap liner, foot-molding Eva midsole, hand-shaped sanded arches and natural rubber soles with extra grip. Rottua repurposes and recycles bicycle tires from Northern California and puts 20 percent recycled bicycle tire material back into their sandal soles.

Model names include the MTB, the Road and the Cyclocross.

MSRP: $79.95.
