TAIPEI,  Taiwan (BRAIN) — Giant Group’s revenues in the first half of the year totaled NT$32.6 billion ($1.1 billion), down 12.4% from the same period last year.

The figures released Thursday are from monthly operating revenue reports filed with the Taipei stock exchange. The reports do not include profit figures or other details. Giant files a more detailed report and a press release on quarterly performance a few weeks after the period concludes.

In May, Giant said “a “significant rebound in OEM orders” fueled a 4.9% increase in group revenues in the first quarter compared to the same quarter last year.

The second quarter was less successful, with April revenues down 17%, May down 29% and June down 30% according to monthly revenue reports.

Merida Industry, Taiwan’s second largest bike maker behind Giant, reported first half revenues of NT$14.6 billion, down 3.8% from the first half last year.
