MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Four Quebec-based entrepreneurs have acquired the Rocky Mountain bike brand assets, following the brand's court-supervised re-organization that began last year.
The group is called Chaos Sports Inc.; three of the partners are connected to Maui Bikes, a Québec-based electric bike brand.
Rocky Mountain's corporate headquarters were in Quebec, but the brand's product development has long been based in British Columbia and will resume there in North Vancouver under the new ownership, the company said.
The new ownership team includes:
- Jonathan Bourgeois, co-founder of Raccoon Skis and partner at Maui Bikes.
- Christian Thibert, the president of automative distributor Thibert Inc., which owns Maui Bikes.
- Patrick St-Denis, who has a background in sales at brands including Oakley, POC and The North Face.
- Jean-François Grenache, a marketing and business development specialist.
"Rocky Mountain is more than just a name — it's a mindset, a culture, a way of experiencing the ride. We're stepping in with humility, energy, and determination. Our goal is clear: to honour what has made Rocky strong for over 40 years and to open a new chapter of growth," said St-Denis.
The company said the brand will relaunch for the 2025-2026 period.
"The new owners are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality, service, and support. In the short term, business operations, customer service, after-sales support, and partner commitments will continue as usual. All warranties offered by Rocky Mountain in recent years will be fully honoured. Bike parts and components will remain available," the company said.
