Cyfac changes distribution in the U.S.

Published November 7, 2012

LA FUYE, France (BRAIN) — French builder Cyfac has set up a new dealer direct sales system in the U.S. The company said the new system will lower retail prices and boost dealer margins.

For the past 10 years, Cyfac has been distributed in the US by Velo Europa Imports, said Eric Sakalowsky, who owns Velo Europa and co-owns Cyfac.

"None of the day-to-day aspects will really change," said Sakalowsky. "I will continue to be the Cyfac contact in the United States but we'll be able to deliver direct to the dealers from France, reducing delivery times and logistic issues."

Under the system Cyfac lowest priced custom carbon framesets will retail for less than $5,000 for the first time. Sakalowsky said dealer margins will be 40 to 50 percent across the line.

Cyfac offers custom and standard framesets, all produced in the company's Loire Valley factory.
