Firsthand to launch framebuilding classes in 2026

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Firsthand Framebuilding, which sells framebuilding supplies including Reynolds steel and titanium tubing, will launch a series of framebuilding classes next year.

Firsthand's founder, Chris Blandford, bought an 8,000-square-foot building this year to serve as the company's headquarters and school location. Renovations are in progress and the building will open next year and will include a 3,000 square foot metalworking shop along with a dedicated classroom and discussion space, computer lab, indoor and outdoor event areas, an on-site apartment for guest instructors, as well as Firsthand's supply shop and warehouse.

The facility will host classes and events for aspiring builders, veteran fabricators, and enthusiasts, with rotating guest instructors and resident builders to assist students. The newly renovated space 

The company plans to offer brazing and welding classes, manual machining instruction, CAD, 3DP & CNC workshops, frame fit and design courses, small business seminars, and full-fledged multi-week framebuilding classes. 

Blandford has built frames for several brands; his own brand is Blandford Bicycles
