SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Registry service Bike Index released a free iOS app to make it easier for registration and for law enforcement to use.
Through the app, cyclists can create an account to register one or more bicycles from anywhere in the world.
"We're thrilled to launch this new iOS app, which makes it incredibly easy for any bike owner to get their bikes registered," said Seth Herr, Bike Index co-founder. "As we continue to grow Bike Index's registry, mobile tools like this are key to encouraging more riders to get their bikes registered."
The app can be downloaded from the App Store.
Entering its 11th year, nonprofit Bike Index has a staff of five and a volunteer ambassador program and has recovered more than 14,000 stolen bikes valued at an estimated $23.5 million with more than 1.2 million bikes in the registry.
