QBP takes over US distribution of Sidi shoes

Published July 19, 2023

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products has been named the new exclusive distributor of Sidi cycling shoes and accessories for the U.S. market. QBP said it will stock a broad assortment of Sidi cycling footwear and accessories at its four U.S. distribution centers starting in October.

Sidi had been distributed in the U.S. for almost 10 years by Ciclista America, a division of the motorsport distributor Motonation. Earlier this month Ciclista president Bill Berroth told dealers in an email that the company had decided to stop selling Sidi on July 10.

Berroth's email mentioned Sidi's sale a year ago to an Italian investment group. Berroth declined to elaborate on the email to BRAIN.

Todd Cravens, vice president of business development at QBP said, "Sidi is an iconic cycling brand that's built a large, loyal consumer base through decades of delivering premium shoes created for comfort, durability and performance ... We're proud to partner with this legendary brand through a long-term commitment that will support U.S. retailers for years to come."

QBP said it will offer a prebook sales program for Sidi's 2024 Collection of road, mountain, and gravel shoes and accessories. The company said the 2024 line will include "all-new designs that reveal an exciting departure from Sidi's traditional visual vocabulary." All U.S. retailers with a QBP account can shop and prebook the 2024 line on qbp.com, or through their QBP sales representative. QBP will receive inventory of Sidi products beginning in October.

"Sidi has a long history and powerful connection with cyclists in the U.S.," said Davide Rosetti, Sidi's CEO, in a QBP press release. "Partnering with QBP will help us grow that connection with the broadest range of riders and retailers by delivering the highest level of service and support. We look forward to this long-term partnership."
