Gazelle Bikes to distribute Urban Arrow family e-cargo bikes in North America

Published November 10, 2020

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (BRAIN) — The U.S. office of Gazelle Bikes will be distributing Urban Arrow Family e-cargo bikes in North America in 2021.

"We've witnessed incredible market growth for e-bikes since Gazelle entered the North American market nearly four years ago, and Gazelle Bikes and Urban Arrow offer complementary products, a shared pedigree of Dutch cycling excellence, and a common goal to provide best-in-class customer service and product support to our network of North American dealers," said Ewoud van Leeuwen, the general manager of Gazelle North America.

The Urban Arrow Family cargo e-bikes offer a front-loader design, and include a choice of Bosch Performance or Cargo line mid-mounted motors with a 500wh battery, Enviolo CVT stepless shifting technology, disc brakes, and an array of accessories.

"Gazelle successfully launched our fall model preview last month, and we look forward to proactively collaborating with our friends at Urban Arrow to continue the upward trajectory of increasing micro-mobility awareness in the market while supporting our independent retailers," van Leeuwen said.

The Urban Arrow announcement comes on the heels of last month's Gazelle Electric Bikes announcement of the brand's forthcoming 2021 models. Gazelle is releasing two new models: The Ultimate C380 and the Ultimate C8, and a new high-step frame option for the Ultimate T10. The newest Ultimates features belt drives and CVT stepless shifting.

Saris announced last month that it was working with Urban Arrow and Bosch to develop e-cargo bikes for use by municipalities. Saris is handling North American distribution of Urban Arrow business-specific e-cargo bikes to municipalities.

Urban Arrow is owned by Holland's PON.BIKE, which also owns Gazelle, Santa Cruz and Cervélo.
