BRAIN looks ahead, plans fashion/apparel feature for January issue

Published November 20, 2019

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Bicycle Retailer & Industry News' editorial staff is preparing a feature on the upcoming season's cycling apparel for our January magazine. The multi-page feature will include photos and reporting about business and product trends for the Fall/Winter 2020/21 season. The feature will provide retailers with an overview of options and trends during the preseason ordering period.

"While retailers are currently selling Fall/Winter 19/20 products on their sales floor, many have already ordered Spring/Summer 2020 lines and will soon be shown (and asked to order) items they'll be stocking next fall. Because BRAIN has a readership of retailers, we can take a look at the fashion trends for the upcoming season, months before most brands start promoting the styles through consumer media," said Steve Frothingham, BRAIN's editor.

In the coming weeks BRAIN's staff will be gathering photos of road, mountain bike, and lifestyle apparel and accessories, while also researching trends for related articles. Brands that would like to be included can contact Frothingham at sfrothingham@bicycleretailer.com. Please be prepared to share high-resolution photos by Dec. 6 if you'd like to be included. There is no charge or advertising expectation to be included.

BRAIN featured Spring/Summer 2020 collections in our August 2019 issue. In addition to a two-page spread featuring upcoming styles, the package included a feature on the trend toward sustainable fabrics and packaging in apparel, a profile of 7Mesh, and a feature on how retailers find success with apparel. The retail feature was informed by a BRAIN retail survey on apparel sales trends. A pdf of the package is attached.

Spring/Summer 2020 apparel lines were featured in our August issue.
