BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Between VeloNews, Bicycle Retailer & Industry News and other media brands owned by Pocket Outdoor Media, April's Sea Otter Guide will reach the widest consumer and trade audience ever via print and online delivery.
The Guide will be mailed to Bicycle Retailer's 8,000 subscribers with its April 1 issue as well as to VeloNews' more than 23,000 paid subscribers. It will also be included in VeloNews newsstand distribution in April.
Further increasing the Guide's reach is Pocket Outdoor Media's vast online audience. The Guide, as a digital magazine, will be sent some 6.8 million times to the most engaged audience of cycling enthusiasts, triathletes, runners, manufacturers, and bicycle dealers in America through VeloNews, Triathlete, Competitor Running, and Women's Running.
"With this program, millions of consumers will learn about this year's Sea Otter," said Frank Yohannan, president and CEO of Sea Otter Classic. "No race is complete without VeloNews and Triathlete in the mix. And this new partnership, now part of a long-standing program with Bicycle Retailer, delivers unprecedented reach. Our team at Sea Otter is thrilled to have the best media brands in cycling backing this year's festival," he said.
Andrew Pemberton, Pocket Outdoor Media's CEO, said, "Sea Otter has never enjoyed such a wide reach. Our readership is heavily engaged in cycling. They ride the most; they are the most active shoppers for cycling gear; and they travel to marquee events like Sea Otter year-round. This partnership showcases what our media brands can do to support endurance sports events."
Marc Sani, Bicycle Retailer's interim publisher, said Bicycle Retailer has been producing the Sea Otter Guide for almost a decade. "Having been purchased by POM, and with us working together, we can offer fantastic reach for the Guide," he said. "The Sea Otter Classic is the most important cycling event in North America today, and helping it grow in national prominence through Pocket Outdoor Media's audience — both in print and online — is a tremendous boon for the industry and for Sea Otter exhibitors," Sani said.
