MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Eight years after it began offering e-bike vacation packages, Trek Travel said it has averaged an annual increase of 50 percent per year since 2016 on e-bike trips. The most popular e-bike trips are offered in California, Tuscany and Provence.
Trek Travel, formed in 2002 as an arm of Trek Bicycle, now offers its guests the option of using a Trek XM700+ e-bike on almost every destination where it runs trips.
“Our guests come back grinning after using one of our e-bikes on a trip. They still get a workout on their active vacation, but they’re able to keep up with friends or family much easier," said Tania Burke, the president of Trek Travel. “We knew our guests would love this bike, but the demand for them has definitely exceeded our expectations. We’re just excited that more people can now see the world by bike. Plus, there’s no learning curve. It’s just like riding a regular bike.”
