CHICAGO, IL (BRAIN) — Opus Bicycles, a Canadian brand, had its entrance into the U.S. market at Interbike marred by the theft of its Prime 1 29er from the show.

Opus' Chris Dimmick said the $5,300 MSRP bike was taken overnight before the final day of the show, last Friday.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — Specialized is recalling about 12,000 Globe bike models because the fork can break. The company has received four reports of the forks breaking, resulting in facial, head and shoulder injuries.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN) — Total attendance at last week's Interbike Expo was up nearly 10 percent over the previous year, hitting 25,536, show organizers announced Monday.

Total store count, the number of retail buyers and attendance at the OutDoor Demo also were up, show director Pat Hus said.
