BOULDER, Colo. — Outside Interactive, Inc., the world's leading creator of outdoor content, mapping, events, and experiences, today announced the launch of a community-based social platform. What will soon be available to more than 100 million registered users, including 1 million paid subscribers across the Outside Network, the social platform introduces new features that connects users with others by bringing curated content from more than 25 media, digital, and technology platforms across the Outside Network, and syncs activity data from hundreds of devices, apps, and events.

This dynamic platform is designed to bring the best of the outdoors into a personalized activity feed and foster a vibrant adventure network for people who love to get outside."At Outside, our mission is to get everyone outdoors—whether it's riding a bike, running, skiing, hiking, climbing, or simply stepping out the door," said Robin Thurston, founder and CEO of Outside. "Our new social platform is a culmination of all the brands we've brought together so that our users can consume the digital content that inspires them, activate through our mapping and event technology, and finally, celebrate their achievements with a community of outdoor enthusiasts and brands."

The social platform provides a more personalized experience across the Outside Network through single sign-on and the ability to create a universal Outside profile. Registered users can customize their activity feed by following authors, creators, brands, friends, trail associations, event directors, and even nonprofits that matter to them. By navigating to "Home" in the top menu of outsideonline.com or any of Outside's brand websites, including Velo, SKI, Yoga Journal, RUN, Backpacker, and Climbing, users can access the new activity feed and set up their profiles. To access the feed in the apps, users can also navigate to "Home" in the bottom menu of Gaia GPS or via the "Community Feed" in the Trailforks app. In addition, the activity feed offers brands a powerful and distinctive platform to cut through the noise and engage directly with followers passionate about the active lifestyle, fostering deeper connections and enhancing brand loyalty.

To easily share their latest activities with followers on the feed, users can sync hundreds of devices like Garmin, Suunto, and Wahoo, plus their Outside-powered Trailforks and Gaia GPS accounts. Users will be able to see events their friends have signed up for on athleteReg, plus finish line photos from FinisherPix and breathtaking photography and videos from Outside brands and users alike. In addition, users can also interact by posting personal videos and photos, commenting on posts, bookmarking stories, high-fiving their friends' posts, and re-sharing their favorite content.

As part of its ongoing commitment to deliver exceptional user experience and value, Outside will continue to expand its offerings with new content, services, and utilities designed to enrich the user experience on the new activity feed.
