Vista, CA— Haro Bikes has hired Ty Buckenberger as its Senior Engineer to develop new bikes as the brand prepares to expand into new categories this season.
Buckenberger joins Haro most recently from Specialized, and has a long history working in engineering and product development roles for brands including Felt Bicycles and Santa Cruz Bicycles. Over the past 15 years he has worked on far ranging projects in performance categories including gravel, mountain and electric mountain bikes.
“Like a lot of people, I have been a fan of the brand forever. I had my first Haro in the ‘80s in high school,” said Buckenberger. “Talking to Doss and hearing about what he has been working on and how Haro wanted to reinvent the brand, it just seemed like a great opportunity. I am excited about the freedom I have here to work on truly innovating and developing performance bikes and taking the Haro brand into more premium territory.”
Buckenberger will work with Doss Barnes, who Haro recently promoted to Chief Operations Officer, to develop new models as part of what the brand is referring to internally as its 2.0 launch.
“I could not be more stoked than I am to have Ty on board at Haro,” said Barnes. “His experience, attention to detail, and passion for all things with two wheels makes him the perfect person to bring Haro’s new range of performance driven products to life. Expect to see his work in real life spring 2024.”
Buckenberger is based in Bend, Oregon where he can test new Haro bikes on endless gravel roads and fast XC mountain bike trails.
