- VPL to distribute Pinion’s award-winning bicycle transmissions in US and Canada
Vapor Propulsion Labs (VPL) has hired Marc Seemann to oversee its North American sales and service program for Pinion under a partnership with the award-winning German gearbox manufacturer.
Seemann joins VPL after eight years with Gates Corporation, where he led technical support and sales for Pinion gearboxes in the United States and Canada. With Seemann’s hiring, VPL will assume responsibility for distributing Pinion products in North America beginning Nov. 1.
“I’m excited to continue representing Pinion in North America for VPL and its portfolio of advanced bicycle products,” Seemann says. “In my new role I will continue working closely with Gates and its amazing Gates Carbon Drive products, which pair beautifully with Pinion gearboxes to create the most durable and low-maintenance bicycle drivetrains on the planet.”
Pinion executives praised Gates for introducing Pinion gearboxes to North America in 2017 under a distribution partnership.

Pinion and Gates will continue working together to support bike brands and in partnership at trade shows.
