April 16, 2019 - Santa Fe, NM - Leading US technical products distributor Bicycle Technologies International (BTI) is now distributing components from Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.’s Cycle Sports Division.

Pioneer Electronics, headquartered in Torrance, California, is a well-known manufacturer of leading-edgstate-of-the arte technology solutions for the mobile electronics industry. Building on more than 80 years of electronics experience, Pioneer has expanded into cycle sports, designing world-class power meters and cycle computers.

Six years ago, Pioneer launched the first and only dual leg power meter that identifies pedaling imbalance, and power output and power loss, for improved efficiency in real time. Pioneer’s SBT Series of Power meters are now available as single or dual leg installations for Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra cranksets. Pioneer's dual leg power meter goes beyond the usual ANT+ power metrics by measuring force in all directions at 30-degree intervals, 12 times per crank rotation for each leg, helping riders improve their pedaling technique and fine tune their bike fit for optimal performance.

Pioneer’s newly released GPS cycle computer, the SGX-CA600, is a very capable wireless GPS unit that works with Shimano Di2 and SRAM Red eTap. The head unit turns into an advanced pedaling monitor when used in conjunction with Pioneer’s power meter. The CA600's short list of features includes intuitive GPS navigation, visual representation of power and pedaling metrics, interval training, a smartphone app, Strava Live Segments, and connection to all of the popular ride share platforms. The CA600 boasts 12-hour battery life.

“The introduction of the CA600 brings Pioneer’s expertise in mobile electronics manufacturing into the ‘connected’ cycle computer category,” said Brenda Lyons, national sales manager for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Pioneer cycle computers have proven themselves with WorldTour professional cycling teams, which is where we felt the cycle computer performance benchmark needed to be set. Whatever your reason for riding, whether it’s racing, training or exploring, we’ve created the ultimate connected cycle computer built to meet the expectations and varied needs of different riders, from professional athletes to amateur competitors, club riders and even novice cyclists.”

“Pioneer makes products that help all levels of riders meet their full potential.,” says Preston Martin, BTI President. “Their force metrics are not only a great training tool, but an ingenious visual aid for professional bike fitters."
