LONGVIEW, WA (BRAIN) Wednesday August 15 2012—Mark Plotkin brings his 25 years of industry experience to Southwest Washington with his new bike shop, Canyonview Cyclery.

The shop soft-opened Aug. 1, joining the ranks of fellow Longview retailers Highlander Cycling Imports and Bob’s Bike Shop.

“After my position as director of tourism for the Mount St. Helens region was eliminated, I started looking around for something to do,” Plotkin said. “I found that the two bike shops in the area weren’t quite serving everyone’s needs and decided to fill that niche.”

The shop currently carries Raleigh, Diamondback and Sun Bicycles, but Plotkin hopes to add more brands in the near future. Access to a neighboring space for storage and assembly allows Plotkin to use all 2,000 square feet of his shop for display and repair.

With the motto “Service is our specialty,” Canyonview Cyclery prides itself on offering top-notch and speedy repair work, and Plotkin boasts that his mechanic Kevin Knorr is the “best in the region.”

“With my experience and Kevin’s expertise, we’ve got a great thing going here,” said Plotkin. “We want to be a great commodity for the community.”

Canyonview Cyclery will celebrate its grand opening sometime in September.
