WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (BRAIN) — Wheat Ridge Cyclery, a nearly 50 year old Denver-area retailer, is opening a second location.
The new location will be in Littleton, in the Ken Caryl region south of Denver. WRC's original location is in Wheat Ridge, north of Denver.
WRS, founded by the Kiefel family in 1973, was purchased by David Dentry last year.
"As the Denver market continues to grow we realize we can better serve our customers by being more local for day-to-day needs," said owner Dentry. "Our first neighborhood independent bike shop, in Ken Caryl, will continue the WRC tradition of friendly customer service, wide product selection, from the best brands, and decades of bicycle service knowledge — all closer to our customers."
The new location is at 12402 C1B West Ken Caryl Avenue near the intersection of C470 in Littleton, in a Safeway shopping center.
WRC carries Trek, Specialized, Yeti Cycles, Santa Cruz, Juliana, Cervélo, Salsa and Electra. Littleton is one town north of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, which will soon feature stores owned by Trek, Specialized and Pon Bike.
"In a new climate of corporate-owned bike shops with limited offerings, Wheat Ridge Cyclery remains independently owned & operated, committed to providing the largest selection of the best brands in the bike industry," a WRC press release on the new store read.
